Our story

The Ferme du Lieu Bill, nestled in the heart of the Pays d’Auge, is a historic estate rich in tradition. Its existence has been documented for centuries, appearing on Napoleon’s cadastral map of 1828, suggesting that it was already active long before the French Revolution.

Its architecture reflects this long history, particularly the main house, which was expanded in 1923 while preserving its old-world charm. The name Lieu Bill, sometimes spelled "Lieu Bille" on certain maps, has become a local landmark.

In 1955, Charles Delassus, the great-grandfather of the current family, acquired the farm, laying the foundation for a lasting family heritage.

Under the guidance of the Rohaut-Debruille family, the farm evolved by combining its agricultural activity with artisanal cider production. François Debruille, alongside his wife Françoise-Anita, developed this tradition, later joined by their sons Edwin and Esteban.

Honoring Norman craftsmanship, they refined their production methods and expanded their activity by opening guest rooms within the estate.

For many years, Edwin Debruille has welcomed visitors, offering a warm immersion into farm life.

From blooming orchards in spring to the aroma of fermenting apples in autumn, and the crackling fireplace in winter, Lieu Bill has become a must-visit for those seeking authenticity and Norman heritage.

Today, a new chapter begins with the Duprez family, cousins of the Rohaut-Debruille family, taking over the farm following François' retirement.

Supported by their family and business, they aim to preserve the soul of the estate while bringing a fresh vision.

The cider-making tradition continues with the production of Cider, Calvados, and Apple Juice, now complemented by new creations such as apple shortbread, showcasing the riches of the Norman terroir.

Edwin Debruille continues to welcome guesthouse visitors, ensuring the farm’s renowned hospitality endures.

Beyond its products, the goal is to open the farm even more to visitors by developing unique and authentic accommodations, designed to share the beauty of the estate and the region.

A family story, an exceptional place, a craftsmanship to share.
